After discovering that your parents were the King and Queen from Sweden, they were more than happy to know that they had a daughter.
Though, unbeknownst to you; they were going to wed you off to a prince in Norway.
Political weddings, ones that would tie the countries together stronger.
That evening, you sneaked out of the palace, bribing several security guards on the way.
The city lights were simply beautiful to even look at. You smiled as you continue walking down the streets.
"Ow!" The man fell down on the floor as you looked down into his blue eyes, which were shimmering into your own. Time seemed to have stopped for the two of you as you continue to look into his eyes.
Was this love at first sight?
The owner of those eyes blinked, snapping the two of you out of the time that seemed to have paused. "I-I'm sorry." He ran off, picking up his little black hat as he stood.
As you got back to the palace, you saw the same man appear. You tapped his shoulder as he swiftly turned around.
"I-It's you!"
"Hello." You gave him a weak smile.
"Who are you...?"
"Well, I'm (Name). Princess of Sweden."
"I'm only a commoner," the man sheepishly shuffled his blonde, spiky hair. "I'm Mathias Køhler." He held out his hand, but quickly wiped off the dirt on his shirt before shaking your hand.
"I long to be a commoner again."
"I wish I was king."
"King of what?"
"King of Northern Europe!"
"That's ambitious, Mathias." Mathias nodded his head.
"Isn't it? But I believe I can achieve that one day," he shut his eyes, as if he was dreaming about it. "Right now, I can only wish."
"I'm about to wed to the prince of Norway in three months."
"You seem unhappy."
"I am," you led him to a nearby bench. "I don't want any political marriage. I want to marry someone that I will love."
"You know that's impossible, right?" Mathias pondered on his thoughts a little bit.
"I know that, but I really don't want to marry the prince of Norway. I've never even met him before..."
Mathias stood up. "I have to go now, I'll see you soon."
Soon?
When would soon be?
A loud slam on the chair was enough to wake you. You twirled down the stairwell to meet Mathias' same blue shimmering eyes that seem to glow.
His cloak shrouded over him lightly as he walked up to you.
"(Name)."
"Mathias, what are yo-"
"I'm here to save you."
"What are you talking about, Mathias?"
"Excuse me, young man!" Your father called Mathias over as the Dane got down on one knee in front of your father once more. "You do know that (Name) has a marriage set with the prince of Norway."
"I do," Mathias firmly replied. "But that doesn't change my mind of wanting to marry your daughter."
"What can you give to my daughter?"
"Love," Mathias answered. "True love."
Your father slammed on his throne again. "Are you saying that I set (Name) and the Norwegian prince together for my own sake?"
"It would seem that way, Sir."
"Outrageous!" You threw yourself next to Mathias, on your own two knees.
"Father! Please forgive Mathias! He's speaking nonsense!" You began to cry as you felt Mathias hold you in his embrace.
"En-"
"Enough is enough." The stoic, emotionless Norwegian prince walked in to the room. "I'm marrying the princess and that's that."
"Don't speak to me that way, din dumme idiot*!"
"Who are you to speak to me that way, if I may ask in return."
"I'm the King of Northern Europe!"
"Excuse me?" The Norwegian was about to burst into laughter. "How nostalgic of you." The young Prince smirked. "At least I have a title of being the Lukas Bondevik, Prince of Norway. And yourself?"
The Dane remained quiet, not wanting you to know whom he was. "Staying quiet, are we? So I suppose I guess I keep the beautiful princess." Lukas walked over to you, grabbing your wrist and pulling you towards him.
You heard Lukas murmur a curse under his breath as you wouldn't budge. "Get up, I said."
"Don't force her!" Mathias intervened.
"Be quiet! This place is no place for you!"
The two were now lashing out at one another.
"Stop!" You shouted. "Father! You never asked what I wanted to do. I don't want to be married off to Norway! I don't want to marry someone I've never met, I don't want to marry for your sake. What more, I don't want to marry someone I don't love!"
"(Name)..." Your father's voice held remorse.
"King, a man never goes back on their words. You promised to entrust your daughter to me. Going back on your words will make you an absolute coward. You do want to pay off that 30536000 krone of a debt as well, don't you?"
"I'll take on the responsibilities of paying that debt for this Kingdom."
"Again, who are you to speak?"
"Like I said-"
"King of Northern Europe? Please, there is no such thing. Such words are similar to a child's game." Lukas smirked.
Mathias looked into your eyes again before bending down. "Do you trust me?" You nodded.
Mathias took a deep breath before standing up again, facing the king and Lukas.
"I'm the King of Denmark." Mathias stood taller than ever as he stated his identity.
"King of Denmark...?"
"That's right. My father passed away yesterday as I was sneaking out of the palace. I bumped into (Name), and I felt love at first sight shock me from deep down my heart. I knew I had to make her mine. Though when I reached the palace doors, she told me that she was about to wed in four months to Lukas, whom she didn't love."
"Ridiculous," Lukas mumbled. "Listen, you." He pointed to Mathias. "I want that money by next week if you're going to pay that much money just to take my woman."
"It's not that big of an amount." Lukas only 'hmph' before storming off.
Your father did the same thing, leaving you and Mathias in the huge hall. Mathias held you in his arms, stroking your back as you cried.
"You're okay now. You're going to be with me."
"But we didn't even go on dates, Mathias!"
"I promise you that we will go on dates, and get to know each other. Promise, promise!" Mathias laughed. "Jeg elsker dig**."
"Me too, Mathias." You laughed along with the Dane. "I didn't know you were a King..."
"I didn't want you to act differently at me than anyone else, so I lied about my identity. Are you mad at me for lying to you?"
You shook your head. "You had your reasons, I guess. Did you see angry Lukas was?"
"His face was priceless!" Mathias let out a laugh again. "Ooh, (Name)! Want to start with our second date?"
"I don't remember having a first date with you, Mathias."
Mathias leaned closer to you, lips almost touching. "When you looked into my eyes, and bumped into me in the city. That was our first date."
"But-"
"No arguing with the King of Northern Europe!" Mathias interrupted. "So? What's your answer? Shall we start our second date? I decided that we must learn about one another through the skin."
"What's that suppose to mean?" You were puzzled. Mathias leaned in closer as he pushed his lips onto yours, parting your lips with his tongue. You kissed back, opening your warm cavern to welcome him. His blue eyes opened again to dazzle into yours.
"Jeg elsker dig, (Name)." The Dane didn't waste another second before carrying you into his arms and asking for the direction to your bedroom -
to know each other through the skin.

Queen (Denmark x Reader)
Mathias peered out the foggy window in a curious manner. Odd how everyone was quiet during the car ride, Mathias usually being the loudest. Today was different, today he and his brothers were going to see {Name}, his girlfriend, at the airport. Mathias grinned at the thought of doing the cliché spin and kiss, blue eyes shined with a dream-like look. Outside was humid and wet with condensation. Luckily it had rained a few hours before and finally stopped, the sun peeking out over the clouds; now he could take you to any place you'd like. Whether it be a field of flowers with the smell of the earth, or the playground the two of you played
