The lights were hitting trees, causing them to hit the cement sidewalk. Your knees curled up against your chest. Your Italian cheery friend, Feliciano was actually supposed to be coming over tonight for movies - but there had to be a thunderstorm so you had to cancel your plans.
So now, here you were. Curling against the window upon the bed, looking outside to the night sky. You heard your doorbell rang.
You ran downstairs. Could it be Feliciano? Did he come without notice? You flung open the door to a stranger; well, he was very... handsome, in ways more than one.
"I-" Before he could to finish his sentence, he fell on your doorstep. The man was already dripping wet with water, lingering from his blonde hair. You had a hard time dragging him to the sofa as he was pretty heavy compared to your weight.
The next morning, you walked down the stairs to meet the blonde, fixing his hair back to his slicked back form.
"Guten morgen," his deep voice made your heart beat quicker than usual. "Danke for last night, really. I would have died without your help."
"Y-You're welcome." You couldn't deny that he was a stranger, but a stranger worth tapping.
"I'm Ludwig Beilschmidt," he slightly smiled. "You?"
"(Name) (Last name)," You held out your hand as he took it, shaking it. "Nice to meet you, L-Ludwig."
The room was in silence for a while.
"I'll make breakfast. Sausage, bacon and two eggs - good?" You stood up on your feet, making your way to the kitchen.
"Ja, that would be wonderful. Thank you, (Name)." You waved a hand to push that off and walked in to the other room, humming (Your Favorite's Song) as you took out the food from the fridge. You heard footsteps approach as Ludwig was standing outside the kitchen.
"Do you have some help?" You nodded, pointing to the eggs. You felt him shove you over playfully as he cracked the eggs onto the pan. Through the whole time, Ludwig was splashing water on you, making you flinch and laugh.
Honestly, it's been forever that you laughed this much.
Ludwig and yourself had progressed toward a positive friendship.
"That girl is good!" You and Ludwig were watching a YouTube video of a girl doing random flips and different moves on a show.
"Ja, she's very good." His blue eyes were stuck onto the screen as your (e/c) eyes were glued to his beautiful face. "Is there something on my face, (Name)?"
"Then why are you looking at me?"
You were speechless. "I-I, uh. Nothing really." You felt Ludwig's face march closer to yours.
"W-What?" You stuttered.
"Ich liebe dich." His lips clashed down on yours, as you returned the kiss with full force.
That didn't really need any translation at all.
"I love you too, Ludwig."
"Ciao bella!" Feliciano finally came over after two days of the horrifying thunderstorm.
"Feli!" You pounced on the cheerful Italian. His brown eyes only trailed to the strange German standing in your house.
"Who is that, bella?"
"That's Ludwig!" You introduced. "And that's Feliciano, my best friend."
"Nice to meet you." The Italian didn't seem so happy about meeting Ludwig at all as he pulled you aside, probably to whine.
"(Name)... He seems weird!"
"He's not, Feli! Ludwig is very nice to me and he'll be very nice to you too!" You watch him pout and nod his head helplessly.
"If that's what you want and if that's what makes you happy, (Name)~" Feliciano placed a peck on your cheeks as you saw Ludwig's blue eyes trail away to look elsewhere in the house.
That evening after Feliciano had left, you were now sitting on the bed with Ludwig by your side.
"You... and that Feliciano," he mumbled out. "You two known each other for a long time?"
You nodded, pulling the sheets to cover your cold bodies. "Of course! Feliciano has been my friend ever since we were young. He was always that derpy kid in the neighborhood that gets bullied, but I loved him to death. He used to be mistaken for a girl - and I mean, he looked like one but I still loved him all the same." You watch as Ludwig nod his head in understanding. "Why?"
"Nothing, it just seemed like you two... were... closer than I thought." Ludwig was acting strange.
"I knew you thought something was between us." You giggled. "No way, love. I love you too much to cheat on you, especially with Feliciano. He was just whining about you taking me away. That's it. Other than that, he's a really nice guy who respects me." Ludwig cupped your cheek as he kissed your lips softly.
"Alright then... If that's what you say, I trust you." You cupped his cheek as he did to you.
"I do too, I trust you too. Fully." You watch a smile grow back onto his face.
"I love you, I really do." His lips clash onto yours again as he smile again at those sweet words.
"Me too, Ludwig. Ever since we first met."
Just then, a large crack split the sky as a tree fell onto the wires, causing the lights to run out and you jumping on Ludwig from the suddenness.
"Oh good lord..." You felt safer in his embrace than anywhere else in the world. He only hugged you tighter in his hold.
"I'm here," you heard him say in the dark. "I will always be here for you."
