"Kayla... I really don't know what's going on anymore..." Maine bended down to pet her lion cub who started to follow her when she started to feed her.

She didn't mind. Having Kayla around was like having a friend - which she never had.

Well, maybe it was because she was far too shy - but that was okay! Kayla was there for her, and she is contented because of that sole reason.

"Maine!" She sighed at that voice. It was Prussia. That fierce nation seems to want to eat her or something! He's been following her the whole day, climbing mountains and diving into water. "Aha! I found you!"

It wasn't a game of hide and seek.

"Prussia! You demon! Get back here!" Austria was here too?

Oh how great. Another battle was bound to clash.

"What do you want, idiot!?" Prussia shouted over Austria.

"To fight!" Austria only pounce on Prussia with his sword gleaming as a battle clashed down.

Maine began to look at the two childish nations and shook her head. "Stop!" Maine did her best to shout over the two but failed. Maine only ran to put herself in the middle, but Austria shoved her away, causing her knees and hands to scrape onto the bare ground.

Fortunately, China - the older nation was there to speculate.

"Maine-aru!" China ran in to carry Maine away from the scene as the two continued clashing.

"China-san..." Maine blushed, remembering that she was still in China's embrace.

"Are you okay!?" Maine looked into his brown eyes. It always mesmerized her and seem to drown her undoubtedly.

"Yes, I am... Sorry."

"You should never step into something like that! That's very dangerous..." China then mumbled something unheard of. "What if you get hurt..."

"What was that, China-san?"

"Nothing! You'll come to my home and heal-aru!" China only brought Maine to his house without Maine speaking another word.

Well, she wouldn't deny to that offer either. She loved China, but China was just too... blind to see it.

Maybe this would be her chance to speak her feelings.

But she was way too shy.

Maine sighed to herself. It was too impossible.

...

"These potions that Hong Kong got from Shanghai are super effective! You should drink one-aru!" China handed Maine the potion as Maine nodded, taking the small potion in her hand and gulping it down.

It was a bit bitter at first, but it seemed fine.

China had helped her bandage, it all seemed too fine.

Like a dream that was about to end all too soon.

"Go sleep-aru! A good sleep is always essential to healing wounds-aru!" Maine only nodded again before walking slowly to the room that China pointed to.

Sleep.

Sleep.

And it wasn't long before she oozed off.

Squish.

It was warmth.

"Sleep, Maine-aru..." China's warmth.

It was China.

Maine blushed as she didn't move.

She was frightened that if she moved, then China would leave.

"I'll be here-aru. Forever if you want, Maine..."

"C-China-san...?" Maine spoke up.

"A-Ah! M-Maine-aru! You heard me-aru!?" Maine nodded slowly before a blush creep onto her cheeks.

"I want you to stay forever... China-san... If that's okay... Even if I don't have wounds..."

China only smiled, nodding to indicate he would as Maine snuggle closer against him. China leaned down to give Maine a kiss on the forehead before his hand went back to patting her head.

"Wo ai ni, Maine."

Maine only hummed in response.

"Always-aru."
