Literature Text

Apparently a new neighbor just moved in town and you got his letter by mistake. Really, you've been wanting to meet this one chunk of a man, as your girlfriend had described.

... Really. It was nothing special.

Until you seriously see this guy.

His hair, a blonde slicked back with a few string of loose ones falling to his forehead.

Was that saliva dripping down from your mouth!? You wipe it away quickly before his blue eyes met your own, acknowledging your presence. You tried to study him a bit more.

He was about his twenties, tall, slender and the tank top just embraces his figure too perfectly.

"Guten morgen," he greeted. "I'm glad some neighbor finally came by to greet me. I'm Ludwig."

"Nice to meet you! I'm (Name)."

Silence.

"Oh!" You suddenly chirp. "Your letter got in my mailbox."

"I'm so sorry for all the trouble to bring it here." Ludwig took the letter from your hand.

"It wasn't a problem! Well, I'll be headin' back! If you need anything, I'll be around the corner. If you turn the left corner here, it's the fourth house. We're pretty close neighbors."

"Uh," he began. "Mind if I get your number?" You didn't say anything. "I mean! If there's something I don't understand around here, I can ask."

"Oh no! Don't worry! Here!" You took out your business card and wrote your personal cell phone number on the back, handing it to Ludwig.

"Thanks, (Name). I'll treat you to dinner or lunch, whatever you want!"

"Sounds nice! I'll see you soon!"

After that, Ludwig and yourself went on several dates. Or so you would call it. You two got to know each other extremely well, and became somewhat like best friends. Every Friday would be German movie day and every Thursday would be dinner day; so forth, so on.

It wasn't two dates later did Ludwig ask whether or not you wanted to officially date him, or start in a relationship with him.

Yes was your simple answer.

...

The first year in the relationship went on slow and the pace was balanced between the two sides. At first, it was perfectly fine.

Then the one and a half year took a turn and things went downhill from there. Ludwig would come home late at night, soaked in taste of alcohol and women. You thought you knew the German, but things do change, just unexpectedly.

"Ludwig,

I think it is time we give our relationship a break. I can't stand you continuously coming home at sunrise with scents of smoke, alcohol and women perfume. I'm not jealous. I know that much. I love you, but... You need to stop.

Love, (Name)."

... You exited the house with your luggages, restraining the tears from falling down your eyes. Ludwig wasn't as you thought. You jump into your car, turning up the radio. The perfect song just popped up for the relationship, making you drop the tears, one by one.

You called me from the room in your hotel
All full of romance for someone that you met
And telling me how sorry you were, leaving so soon
And that you miss me sometimes when you're alone in your room
Do I feel lonely too?

You have no right to ask me how I feel
You have no right to speak to me so kind
We can't go on just holding on to time
Now that we're living separate lives...

The two of you would be living separate lives until he finds a resolution.  That was right. You couldn't go on holding on to time, because time will reveal instead of conceal.

Well I held on to let you go
And if you lost your love for me, well you never let it show
There was no way to compromise
So now we're living (living)
Separate lives

Ooh, it's so typical, love leads to isolation
So you build that wall (build that wall)
Yes, you build that wall (build that wall)
And you make it stronger...

You turned on the car engine, ready to drive away. Pushing into D gear, about to drive off as a loud smack was received by the window.

It was Ludwig. Still with his messy morning hair, not slicked back. You rolled down your window, letting him talk to you.

"Yes, Ludwig." You pulled the gear to P again.

"I can explain..."

"Explain? To go out and drink every day until sunrise? To go out and drink every day sometimes that you don't come home? I really don't need an explanation for that. It's pretty self-explanatory..."

"It was my fault. I promise. If you just give me a second chance. You're important to me, and I never ever ever want to lose you as I lost my older brother..."

"Ludwig, can you explain the women's perfume."

"That's because the jacket wasn't mine! That jacket was red, you know the rest."

That explains it.

So you've been wronging him the whole time.

"I'm sorry, Ludwig." You cupped his cheeks, and kissed him quickly on the lips as an apology.

"No, I'm sorry. Won't you just step out of the car and get your luggages?"

And you did as he said.

Leaning against him already comfortable, why would you need to go? He would be your pillar forever and there's no other place in the world you want to be right now.

Well you have no right to ask me how I feel
You have no right to speak to me so kind
Some day I might (I might) find myself looking in your eyes
But for now, we'll go on living separate lives
Yes for now, we'll go on living separate lives
Separate lives.

Never going separate lives.

Because Ludwig will always be there by your side.

And he sworn it walking down the aisles five years later.

"I love you." You whispered to him, patting his perfectly slicked back hair.

Ludwig didn't reply as he showed it by action. He gently tugs you into his embrace and pulls you into a deep kiss.

This was all that you wished for. It would be a happy ending till' the end.
... Major OOC.

I think. But Germany is still my favorite regardless.

What? Does someone want a kiss scene with our darling German? I had one. I added one. Hurrhurrhurr.
