Literature Text

"That's the story of the General and the female soldier."

"Aw," your thirteen years old child cooed. "They both died..."

"At least they were happy, right?" You heard keys jingle by the door as you turned to look, door opening to the tall blonde man.

"I'm home." He declared, stripping his jacket and hanging it on the rack. Your daughter jumped down from the sofa and ran to her father's open embrace, giving him a peck on the cheek.

"Mutti read me a story today of a female soldier and her General falling in love with her unconditionally, having no remorse till' the end and still loving each other until their last breaths..." Your daughter went on and on for another good three minute as you saw the blonde facepalm, walking to the kitchen. "I'll just leave you two now." Your daughter cooed as she ran up to her room upon her cellphone ringing.

You walked to the kitchen to join your husband, sitting on the chair adjacent from him. "How was work? You seem really stressed."

"My head kept hurting today, almost as if someone was talking about me." You went behind him to only began massaging his temples. "So liebe, what story were you telling her?"

"One of the war-arc chapters in the book that you have in the drawer. The one about (Name) and General Beilschmidt. Isn't it funny the author made the General have the same last name as you?"

You heard him strain out a laugh. "That book was handwritten by my Grandfather at the time of crisis, and he found a woman in the camp. At first, he said she didn't seem like one. But then she began showing more feminine traits that only gave him clues and hints. Soon after, my Grandfather grew close to her and developed feelings for her unknowingly. My Grandfather dodged a bullet for her and of course, they die together in the battlefield."

"Who finished the book then?"

"His comrade who picked up his book. Said he saw Grandfather's hand align with the woman's."

"That's really... sad." You replied, tears dwelling.

"At least they really had a happy ending together; now that they're in Heaven." Ludwig opened his arms to welcome you.

You only pouted as you sat on his laps, leaning your head on his shoulder.

"You know, Ludwig." You began, looking into space. "You resemble a lot of your Grandfather. Even the name."

"You too. That woman's name is the same as yours."

"This is almost as if your Grandfather is telling the future."

...

You only mumbled a scary under your breath and smiled.

You only then look up at Ludwig before he leaned down to kiss you, with you returning it with equal force; fighting for dominance.

You hate to admit it; but you always lost.

Everyone deserved a happy ending.

General Beilschmidt and (Name) got one.

And so did you and Ludwig.

You felt General Beilschmidt and (Name) looking at you, giving you a small smile before they went off into the thin air, hands still entwined, laughing as they went.

Your life was complete with him, right by your side forever.
I'm sorry if it sucked. I can redo it with another plot if anyone wants me to. Please. Just tell me.

My brain is literally cramped with projects.

I'm so sorry.

You (c) ... Germany. Forever. See?
